Season Starts, How The Boro FC have kicked off each season.

A - Early  Days

The 7th. August is Middlesbrough's earliest start for competitive games in a season. This first happened in 1999 at The Riverside for a Premier League fixture against Bradford City. It is equalled, this season, with Boro’s ‘kick-off’’ at home to Ipswich Town on 7th. August. In 2009/10 Boro also started on that date  with the opener at home to Sheffield United. This was a Friday evening game with an 8pm kick-off, in other words 5 hours ‘later’ than the other two with their 3pm kick-offs.
